TYPES OF FASTS
There are several types of fasts that are commonly done during our 21 Day Corporate Fast. Among them are Media Fast, Liquid Fast, and Daniel Fast. See below for more information on each to assist you in a successful journey that will result in an increased connection with God and stronger relationship with Christ!
The Liquid Fast is also in the name- only liquids during fast. This is abstaining from consumption of all solid foods. Typical meals are shakes, smoothies, soups, and bisques!
The Daniel Fast is a Biblically based partial fast* based on two instances of Daniel's fasting experiences. “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.” ( Daniel 1:12) “In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks.
This fast is sometimes called the “Jewish Fast” and involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.
This fast is a great option if you do not have much experience fasting food, have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. For example, you might choose to stop using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast and then carefully bring that element back into your life in healthy doses at the conclusion of the fast.
